The Sunday session, hosted by Slater Williams firstly covered Heiwa/Heian bunkai then Jitte and bunkai. Over the weekend I gained a lot of knowledge along with plenty of lumps and bruises! Everyone else also seemed to have learned a lot and had an enjoyable course. Thanks for all those who attended for supporting us and thanks specially to Sensei Tsukada for coming over to England and giving us a great weekend. - Calvin

Sensei Tsukada Course
The Sensei Tsukada course was a great success this year, although it didn't get off to a good start. Due to bad fog and a light aricraft crash at Birmingham Airport, the airport was closed and Sensei Tsukada's plane redirected to Manchester. By the time we had got back to Kidderminster it was too late for the training session. Saturday's session hosted by John at Cleobury was well attended and the day concentrated on kata Paiku. Saturday night was an evening for a few drinks and a meal at the Angel Chef Chinese restaurant in Worcester. Sunday's session was hosted by Sensei Slater Williams of the JKI association. The day's training was very enjoyable and something new for the majority of Shotokan karateka attending. The kata for the day was Kururunfa with much of the bunkai ending in some very interesting (and painful!) groundwork techniques. Thanks to all those who attended this year's course. Thanks to Slater and his club for making us feel welcome (specially the tea and biscuits!) and a special thanks to Aleksander and Katarina who travelled all the way from Slovenia for the course............. And finally a big thank you to Sensei Tsukada.
